My journey with Linux began during my early semesters at BIT Mesra. After a roommate demonstrated the speed and sheer efficiency of an Arch Linux setup with dynamic window tiling, I was immediately hooked.

Transitioning from a traditional desktop paradigm to a customized Hyprland compositor transformed the way I write software.

1. Hyprland: Fluid Dynamic Tiling

Hyprland provides smooth Wayland animations, hardware-accelerated rendering, and flexible window tiling rules. Having every terminal, browser window, and editor tile automatically removes the friction of manual window resizing.

2. Waybar & Custom Shell Scripts

A minimal, Catppuccin-themed top bar displaying active workspaces, CPU and RAM utilization, network throughput, and audio states. All telemetry is piped through lightweight Bash and Python automation scripts.

3. Neovim & Tmux Integration

For rapid command-line editing and server debugging, Neovim configured with Treesitter and LSP gives instant feedback without the overhead of heavy IDEs. Combined with Tmux session management, switching between multiple git repositories takes less than a second.

Why This Matters for Full Stack Developers

Operating directly on Linux forces you to understand:

  • Filesystem hierarchies and permission models (chmod, chown, symlinks).
  • Process management, signals, and background daemons (systemd, top, kill).
